When you submit a tutor request, Knack uses a matching process to notify tutors who may be a good fit for your needs.
First, our system will identify tutors who have taken your course. While effective, this approach can sometimes limit the number of available matches—particularly for courses with fewer available tutors.
Now with our Enhanced Matching feature, our system expands how tutors are considered when necessary. The goal is to ensure that every tutor request has the best possible chance of receiving responses.
When this feature is enabled at your school, the system will still begin with notifying tutors who have taken the exact course you’re requesting help in. If this does not produce a match, our system will then look to invite tutors who have taken closely related or similar courses.
For Students
Enhanced Matching helps you connect with additional tutors by broadening the pool of potential matches when exact matches are limited.
For example, if you request help for Calculus 1, the system will first notify tutors who have taken that exact course. If that group is unavailable, the system may then notify tutors who have taken similar or more advanced courses, such as Calculus 2. Even without the exact course listed, a tutor with higher-level experience can still be well qualified to help.
As a result, you may see more tutor options than before, including tutors with related academic experience. You can review each tutor’s profile and decide which one best fits your needs before booking a session. You remain fully in control of who you choose to work with.
