Knack sends transactional and marketing emails as a part of its relationship with your institution.

If your institution uses spam or email filtering mechanisms that would inhibit email deliverability, please add Knack's domain to your "allow lists" or trusted domain configuration.

Transactional emails are sent for user activities on the platform like account creation, tutoring session requests, tutoring session receipts, and legal notices.

Marketing emails are sent to students at your institution to inform them about the availability of the Knack platform and resources that are available for them to utilize. They are also sent to inform users that they can become tutors on the platform.

Knack's Email Configuration

  • Our emails are sent from the joinknack.com domain.

  • We primarily use AWS Simple Email Service, Sparkpost (messages sent from our customer support platform, Intercom), and Google Workspace for outbound email

  • To aid with deliverability, we utilize DKIM and SPF to achieve DMARC compliance for all outbound messages

  • We use a DMARC reject policy to protect our domain and combat spoofed emails. We use DMARC monitoring to detect bad actors.
