To schedule a session, head to Sessions → Schedule session. You can also find the 'Schedule session' button at the bottom of your direct conversations!

If navigating on the mobile app, you can click on the blue plus sign (+).

On the Schedule session page, you'll be asked to:

  • Select a course — these are the courses you’ve been approved to tutor

  • Set a date and time for the session — this can be changed by you or the student at a later time

  • Set a recurrence — occurring once or weekly (up to 15 weeks)

  • Set an expected duration — in 30 minute intervals, although the actual session can run for a shorter or longer amount of time (up to 1.5 hours per session)

  • Set a location — where the session will take place, either in-person or online

  • Select a location—if you choose to meet in-person

  • Set a description (optional) — to communicate any session details to students beforehand

  • Invite students (optional) — sessions can be sent directly to your students and/or made publicly available for any student to join

  • Set a title (optional)—for further customization of the session

Recurring Sessions

If you expect to hold multiple sessions with your student, you can schedule weekly sessions in one go with the Recurring feature. To have a closer look at how the feature works, please check out the short tutorial below by our Product Designer, Hae-Yang Chang!

Scheduling a private session

While inputting the session details, you can send the session to specific students using their name or phone number. Keep the ‘Let any student find and join this session’ checkbox empty.

Scheduling a public session

While setting the session details, click on the ‘Let any student find and join this session’ checkbox. After setting the session details, you can share the session anywhere you’d like by heading to the session details page and clicking ‘Share session’.

Session Limits

Knack has implemented a daily limit of a singular 1.5 hour session for a tutor/tutee combination. This is because studies have shown that shorter, yet weekly repeated sessions prove to be vastly more efficient than tutoring for more than 1.5 hours in a singular day. Knack's mission is to ensure that both tutors and tutees are having efficient and productive tutoring sessions.
