What is the Session Recap?

Session recaps are required to be filled out by students after completing each session here on Knack (see below). This recap will ask for 3 items:

  1. Rating the session from 1-10.

  2. Your confidence level, both before and after the session, in your understanding of the course material you received tutoring for.

  3. A recap of your session, which can include: a summary, next steps laid out by your tutor, things to continue practicing, etc.

Are Recaps Required?

Recaps are required to be filled out for all sessions. You will be prevented from attending any further sessions until the unfulfilled recap is submitted and the session is confirmed as completed. Student recaps are required immediately after your tutor has submitted their after session report.

Where do I go if I forgot to fill out my recap?

Upon realization that you have an outstanding recap, you should navigate to your Sessions tab, and select the "Past Sessions" button. Sessions with an outstanding recap will be labeled with "Recap Needed" and will be outlined in red. Click into the session, and select the complete recap button. Fill out the session recap, and submit the form upon completion.

Why do I need to fill out a recap?

As a student, recaps are an integral part of the learning process. Filling out a recap allows you to have a resource to reference if you are in need of a reminder, and provides an area to summarize your learning directly after it occurs. Additionally, answers to the first 3 questions can show the impact of peer tutoring, and provide Knack and your school with key data to continue improving the experience for students.

Note: Recaps are a separate item from reviewing your tutor. More information on tutor reviews can be found here.
