Legal Name vs Display Name: What's the Difference?

Legal names on Knack are required to be inputted when signing up on the platform, due to the tax implications of being a tutor. This should automatically be filled out when signing up via your school's login.

However, Knack recognizes that legal names are sometimes not used by users. Thus, we also offer users the ability to set a Display Name here on Knack. This name will be used in place of your legal name, and will be the only name displayed to other users on the platform.

Where can I change my display name?

You can change your display name within your Profile, under the "Edit Profile" section. There, you can set a display name that is preferred to you. Common uses for display names include nicknames, name shortening, etc.

Note: Please remember all display names must be appropriate and be in compliance with Knack's terms of use. If there are any questions, please reach out to Knack Support.
