Retrieving and Viewing Usage Data from CSV exports

Knack can generate and deliver CSV files containing all platform activity for your organization. With this feature, CSV files will be delivered nightly to Knack's SFTP server for your organization. Files should be available by 5 AM eastern time.

Accessing the SFTP Server & Files

You will be provided with a username and password combination to access the SFTP Server. Your Knack Partner Success Manager will share this information with you securely via email. Once you have your credentials in hand, head to https://transfer-ui.joinknack.com/web/client/login and login. You can access the files by navigating to the outbox and then the exports folder. Each file can be downloaded, by selecting the desired file.

Usage Data

A total of three files will be delivered on a daily basis. The files delivered are as follows:

  • Tutor Requests - all requests submitted by students at your organization.

  • Sessions - all sessions at your organization. This includes Completed sessions, as well as any that are Requested, Awaiting Tutor, Awaiting Student, Scheduled, Canceled, Declined, Missed.

  • Users Sessions - all sessions at your organization, segmented by student. This file contains 1 row for each student in a Session, which could be either a 1-1 or group sessions with more than 1 student. Distinct Sessions can be identified with the Session ID.

Utilizing CSV Files to View & Analyze Platform Activity

By delivering raw data in the form of these CSV files, we're able to provide a more robust set of data. With that, you will have an increased ability to analyze key metrics for your organization. Given the format of this data, we understand that it may not be something you are familiar or comfortable with analyzing. If you have access to a data analyst or a team of analysts, we highly recommend connecting with them to assist you in analyzing this data further. If that is not an option and you have questions about the data you are receiving, please reach out to your Knack Partner Success Manager.

Any data that is not included in these files, should be accessible via the Knack Administrator Dashboard. If you are in need of additional data and find that it is not available in the CSV files or the Knack Dashboard, please reach out to your Knack Partner Success Manager for further assistance.
