How long does it take to receive offers from tutors?

It can be within few minutes or a couple days, depending on tutor availability per course, but rest assured that all qualified tutors will be notified of your request.

What if I want a specific tutor?

If you want to connect with a specific tutor, feel free to search for their name and request them directly. You can find more information on how to do this in this article!

Even if you want to work with a specific tutor, we recommend you still complete the Request for Tutor form so that other tutors will reach out.

Are there other options to receive tutoring help?

Yes! If your school has chosen to support professional tutoring, you may have access to a network of professional tutors you can connect with on-demand. These professional tutors are available to provide quick help within a general subject area. For more information regarding these sessions, please reference this article.

Note: Access to professional tutoring is a decision made by your school. If you do not see an option for it, your school may not have chosen to support on-demand professional tutoring at this time. Any questions regarding professional tutoring help can be directed to Knack Support.

How much does it cost?

Knack tutoring is available at no cost to students who qualify for their school's program.

How do I know if I am eligible for my school's program(s) or not?

All programs you are qualified for are automatically applied to your account when you connect your school. You can see if you have an active program and its details on the programs page by going to Account Settings β†’ Programs. If you are on the mobile app, you can go to Profile β†’ My Student Program.

Are online tutoring sessions available?

Yes! As of right now, the majority of sessions on Knack are online.

How long can tutoring sessions last?

Each individual tutoring session has a maximum duration of 1.5 hours. There is also a limit of one, 1.5 hour session between a Tutor/Student combination in one day. Studies have shown that shorter, repeated sessions prove vastly more efficient than tutoring for more than 1.5 hours.

If you foresee a session lasting longer than 1.5 hours, you will need to work with your tutor to ensure your session is focused and productive.

If available, you may have access to On-demand Pro Tutoring. You can learn more by checking out this article.

What if my tutor doesn't show up to the session?

If a tutor doesn't show up, you'll need to cancel the session. Reach out to the tutor to communicate what happened and try to reschedule. If you need help for the course as soon as possible, try reaching out to other tutors by searching by course and reach out to support! Multiple cancellations by tutors may result in their loss of privileges so, if you feel necessary, please report the user to Knack.

I'm having trouble verifying my phone number

There are a couple of reasons this may occur. Firstly, please confirm you are using a U.S. based phone number. Phone numbers from other countries most likely will not receive the message. Additionally, this may be because you have your phone number verified on another account. If you aren't sure whether or not you have another account, or if you don't think these may be your issue, please reach out to Support!
